What began as a personal challenge became the foundation for a better way to support families.
It Started in Our Own Home
Our agency was born out of a very real experience in our own home.
We are a family of busy professionals — one of us a dentist and the other an engineer — and like many families, we care deeply about our careers, but even more about our children.
When our first child was born, we quickly realized how difficult it was to balance everything. Between long workdays, household responsibilities, and the endless logistics that come with raising a young child, it often felt like the very things we were doing to support our family were taking away from the time we wanted most — simply being present with our daughter.
When we were expecting our second child, we knew something had to change.
We wanted help in our home — someone who could support our family so we could spend more time focusing on our children and less time managing the day-to-day.
But finding that help turned out to be far more difficult than we expected.
There were no agencies in our area connecting families with nannies, mother’s helpers, or household managers. Like many parents, we started from scratch — researching options, posting ads, and asking for recommendations.
At one point, we hired a mother’s helper, only to later realize we had missed an important question during the interview process. She wasn’t vaccinated for measles — something that mattered deeply to us with a newborn on the way.
That moment stayed with us.
Because it wasn’t about one oversight — it was about how much responsibility falls on families to get everything right, often without the time or support to do so.
What we learned during that search was this:
Finding the right person to welcome into your home isn’t simple.
It requires time, thoughtful screening, and knowing the right questions to ask — all things that are difficult to manage when you’re already balancing work, pregnancy, and a young child.
Eventually, we found our nanny.
She is everything we had hoped for and more — thoughtful, trustworthy, kind, dependable, and deeply caring with our children.
The difference she made in our lives was immediate.
Our home became calmer.
Our time with our children became more present and meaningful.
The daily stress of trying to do everything ourselves lifted.
Today, she is still with our family and has truly become part of it.
That experience changed how we think about household support.
We saw firsthand how transformative the right help can be — not just in managing a home, but in giving families the time, clarity, and peace of mind to focus on what matters most.
Hearth & Home was created to make that process easier for other families.
We believe that finding the right household support should not require months of searching, uncertainty, or guesswork.
By carefully vetting and thoughtfully matching exceptional nannies, mother’s helpers, and household managers with families, we simplify the process — removing the stress and creating placements that feel natural, aligned, and built to last.
